I've been working with Al for almost 18 months. I'm retired and have some health problems, particularly with my back.  Al was recommended as the best trainer for me, as he liked working with clients who had injury or health issues. He is very friendly, easy going and quickly put me at ease.

 

He really cares about his clients and his persistence has encouraged me to keep up with his programme of regular exercises to improve my strength and flexibility. Alistair was highly recommended by a friend. It was my first time seriously in the gym and it was the best decision I could have made. From the start we spoke about my achievable goals, long term targets and how we would plan to reach our targets. Our sessions always focused on having correct form and the importance of doing things correctly to get the best out of our workouts. His approach was perfect he knew when to push you and when to hold back. I believe that my sessions with him also helped change my view on the gym and I started to love going to the gym. Alistair also helped me with recovering from old sport injuries. Alistair helped a complete novice not only gain strength, stamina but also confidence in the gym.

I initially spoke with Al as I needed some strength and conditioning to allow me to get back on the bike and fulfil my goals. As an elite cyclist through my University days, I succumbed to many injuries, some of which still plague me today. Alistair has done miraculous work in helping my strength training, my nutrition, and alleviating various joint pains/niggles.

 

Al has a unique capacity to engage clients on both a personal, professional and get it done capacity, which results in you working harder, more often, and genuinely owning your own training/body.

 

Al has been a fantastic support, be it through sessions or over the phone, discussing diet plans and breathing techniques, it is, and will remain, the highlight of my week.

I was paying for a gym membership but never really had the motivation to use it until I started training with Alistair. Now I’ve got more confidence to use the facilities and really enjoy going to the gym. Alistair's an excellent motivator and what I like most is that he isn’t afraid to correct my form. 

 

I can now deadlift over 100kg and know I’m doing it properly without putting my body at risk. Its not just about results with Alistair, it’s just as much about technique which makes me trust him implicitly. As my skill and commitment improves I find that he changes our training sessions with a variety of exercises, stretches, and nutritional advice to keep me motivated and to make sure I’m doing the best for my body beyond the confines of our session. I find that he genuinely wants me to be the best version of myself I can possibly be.

Having been an un-finisher most of my life, I didn’t hold much hope for personal training. I had become used to focusing all my energy on my career. I had totally given up on my health. I met Al at a health MOT which was supposed to last a half hour and instead lasted an hour and a half. Something clicked. Here was this humble and energetic person, excited by his job. I signed up thinking, “it’s never going to last but may as well give Al a chance as he seems genuinely convinced he can help me, poor guy.”

A year later I still train with Al twice a week, my injuries are healed, I am pain free (unless I have sore muscles from training) and I have lost 35 pounds. Al has advised me on all facets of wellness, from sleep to nutrition and never recommends something he hasn’t researched and trialled thoroughly himself. His passion is infectious and I leave every session feeling lighter than when I came in - which I suppose I am!

 

I am elated to have competed in an outdoor swimming competition in September having previously not been able to swim more than a few lengths and I took the icy Pyg track up to the the top of Mount Snowdon in December - I couldn’t climb 4 stairs without pain just 10 months before. I could never thank Al enough for everything he has done for me. It isn’t just the fact that I have more energy, feel better in my clothes and am no longer a gym novice. I feel like a different person, a better person and Al has shown me that nothing stands in the way of what you truly want.

I trained with Alistair many times over the course of the last 12 months, and he is someone who goes above and beyond just taking you through exercises. His background knowledge of sleep, nutrition, as well as tips and advice for my busy lifestyle have proven beneficial.

In my role as a football referee, I run over 10km a game and therefore have to do a lot of cardio training on grass or the athletics track. Alistair helped to incorporate that necessary training with a lot of strength and conditioning work in the gym to help my personal goals of improving my fitness and physique.

I have been training with Ali for 2 years, he has really helped me keep my discipline of dieting and training regularly. He constantly assesses my progress and will push me when I need it by advancing my routine and make me try exercises that I used to be very cautious of and avoid, like deadlifts and lunges. I have become more comfortable in the gym especially in the weights section.

 

I enjoy eating healthy now and finding creative ways to make healthy food taste great thanks to his examples. I can tell he cares about his clients and wants to see them doing well in every aspect of their life. It feels like he genuinely wants to see people in their best shape. Having been introduced to us by our son and daughter in-law, Al has been a godsend for our family. He is a very affable and friendly young man who is thoroughly knowledgeable. He sat me down to find out what my problem areas and weaknesses were and where I was going wrong. He gave me sound advice concerning food and exercise and then set out a plan for me.

 

With a coherent plan and constant motivation, training with Alistair has been a revelation. I have seen constant positive gains throughout my body and mindset. He encourages me to think less short term and instead have a lifelong goal of exercise and proper diet, that is enjoyable and sustainable.
